It’s time to give kids real food at school
This is an invitation to take one day this fall and use it to build a strong foundation for our children’s health.
As you know, children who grow up enjoying food that is both good for them and delicious learn healthy eating habits that last throughout their lives. Those habits can start at schoolbut only if we give schools the resources to serve real food instead of the overly processed fast food that endangers their health.
On Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2009, we’re holding a public potluck in Fort Wayne as part of a National Day of Action to give kids real food at school. On that day, people in communities across America will gather with their neighbors to share a home-cooked meal and to send a clear message to Congress: it’s time to give schools the ability to serve real food for lunch.
