Profile Information

About Me:
My name is Aleeah Livengood and my husband Michael and I have been in the masonry business for the last 22 years. We decided it was time for us to start another business that provided some solutions to the concerns we've had over the years about heating alternatives when heating with wood; that's when we started GREENHEAT Solutions. We specialize in Temp-Cast Enviroheat Masonry Heaters and Isokern Fireplace & Chimney systems. Our mission is to improve your living and working environment by offering heating alternatives that cut costs, increase independence, energy efficiency and healthy living.

We've owned several wood stoves over the years and we were never satisfied with the results. However, when we found Temp-Cast Masonry heaters we realized that it was a product worth sharing! They are an affordable option that follows the Tulikivi contra flow design used extensively in Finland. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing as a fireplace but they can serve as the primary heat source in a modern home of 1500 to 2000 sq ft. One firing of 50 lbs of wood, delivers a heat storage capacity exceeding 14 hours, with a combustion efficiency rating of 94.4%.

Our other product, Isokern Fireplace Systems are a precast firebox made from Hekla volcanic pumice. They provide the ambiance of a fireplace and more heat efficiency than traditional fireplaces but also cut 30% from the materials & costs of installation. One additional benefit is that the lightweight model makes remodeling a snap since it can be placed on a combustible surface. *IMPORTANT UPDATE* Isokern has come out with a GreenTech Fireplace that meets and exceeds EPA regulation standards for fireplace emissions!

We would like the opportunity to educate others about the benefits of these products. Contact me and we can schedule a time to talk or present to your group.

INFORMATIONAL: Lessons in Masonry Heaters 2

Heating Performance

Masonry heaters can serve as the primary heat source in a modern home of 1500-2000 Sq Ft, particularly when it is located in center of a living space. The heat output is controlled by the amount of wood burned, while the rate of heat delivery remains comparatively steady. On each firing of 50lbs of wood, a Temp-Cast fireplace can deliver 250,000 BTU’s of radiant heat.…

Well thank you. Glad to be here. While I have your attention, have you ever advertised on this site? One of those banner ads that costs $75.00 per month? If so, did you get any business from it? I am thinking about running one.

Interesting. I did masonry many years ago and went to a seminar in the late 70's detailing construction of the European style contra-flow fireplace. In the early 90's I built my own simple version, an all masonry stove (except for the doors) that is a simple arched firebox about 30 Inches front to back that connects into a masonry flue that runs through the center of our 2 story house. It doesn't have any 'contra-flow' features, but it does capture much of the heat produced. I usually fire twice a day in the winter and once the masonry is warm, it produces a steady radiant heat that is really comfortable. Your plan appears to take that concept and expand on it. One nice thing about using masonry to capture the heat is that the fire can burn hotter which cuts down on the creosote and 'goo' that is a safety issue in the chimney. Good luck with the business.

It has been a lot of fun learning! But it is hectic when you are a single working mom too. :) But I enjoy being busy and life wouldnt' be fun unless there was some sort of challenging chaos! Hope you are having a lovely day. You should come visit ACRES sometime, the trails are just beautiful!
