For those interested in plant identification as well as learning their edible and medicinal uses, I'm going to do a plant walk on Saturday (the 25th). The walk will start at Holcolm Gardens at 2pm. I'm bringing field guides to sell for cheap. When I still lived in Indy I'd walk around the woods by hidden lake and the woods across from holcolm gardens most days trying to learn plants. It took a few years to learn by myself, but is easy to learn with the help of others.
I was reading some information on the web, I think Green Indiana and I'm hoping you can provide some insight. We are planning for an October Scout camporee near Ft. Wayne, with the theme around Suvivorman - wilderness survival. We are expecting 300-400 kids and adults. We have some initial ideas and I understand your organization may have put on some wilderness survival events? If I am on the wrong track, please let me know who I should be getting ahold of.
I would like to sechedule a call with you and or others on this topic. Perhaps if you are somewhat in the area, maybe I could take you to lunch. I would love to get your ideas to make this a truly unique education opportunity for these young people. Feel free to email or call.
Brrrrrrr!!!!!!! I saw just recently a survival tactic to get out of an ice hole like this, you have to act like a walrus or seal and use your whole body to boost yourself out. Watch these two animals come out of artic ocean to see how its done.
