That's right, it's like ol' Joe Friday used to say on Dragnet, "Just the flax ma'am."
Keep up the good work, folks!

Hello, I'm Nova
I have been running an alternative energy myspace site for about 7 yrs now.
I came across this site when the owner added me as a friend. I am very excited about this site. For now most of my stuff is on myspace. I will be trying to move alot of the info. to this site over the next few days. I finally sprused up my page to look like something I would be running. So hopefully people like it when they visit. Hope to see ya on there and Have a great day.Spread the word out if you can.

Your friend,
Nova

Thank you for the friend request. I enjoy your flax crackers a LOT!
We sell them where I work, and they rock. I'm interested to know what other products you offer.

Thank you for becoming a member of AGI, you are most welcome here. Feel free to make it your place and invite your friends to take a look and see what they think and if they would like to join.

What are your strong points in environmental awareness or curiousities? Is there a particular arena or field we could help empower you with? AGI has a staff that is able to offer full support and assistance in environmental work and issues, community and economic development, advertising, promotions, web design, and programming. Have a question or a request. Dont hesitate.

The idea here is to support you in helping to support communities and Indiana as a whole to make the change over to more sustainable practices and equilibrium.

Besides the resource based environmental arenas of: Land, Water, Air, Energy, Policy, and Advocacy. There are many other fields that are interconnected to sustainabiity and the green paradigm including recreation, health/wellness, agriculture, building and design, community development, economic development, products, arts, and humanities and many more.

You can share your awareness and activities in any of the above through many facets this site offers and more soon to come. Chat around, friend up like minded individuals, post, blog, make groups, are just some of the ways in which you may interact and utilize this site to tool your work and passions.

We are all in this together and together we can help make things better.
Kootoss to you for participating in this great work!

Recycle, don’t recharge

Where do you recycle just plain old, regular alkaline batteries?

Jeff

Hi Jeff, happy to answer your question, free of charge!

Interstate Batteries has eight locations in Indiana that will accept all types of batteries for recycling. Their web site claims that they actually recycle more batteries than they sell!

Tale of the tape

I’m writing as an archivist who needs to recycle old VHS, Betamax and cassette tapes.  I do know the tapes themselves are toxic when burned (which is what will happen to them if we toss them in the trash in Indianapolis).  Several places in town used to recycle them, but [...]

Scrapping the scrap

Renee,

Current market conditions have scrap prices tumbling to historic lows.  How will these conditions affect the city’s contract with Covanta (if it goes through)?  For many items that become scrap, costs outweigh revenues.  I understand domestic copper mines are stockpiling rather than selling at these prices.  Any idea how [...]
