I got the application turned in about a month ago, and am just waiting now. Thanks for all your help!

We have a garden that is sprouting for Winter. Greens, beets, carrots and radishes. I'm excited!

Much peace,

Thanks for the welcome and thank you for passing this link around. We are focusing on ways to be greener as a family here and have seem some positive results so far. In the past 2 months we have started recycling more actively, and discovered that USI has several recycle drop off points for a few items within walking distance of our back yard! We started a small compost pile too.. and we have noticed that as a family we are producing much less waste because of it. It was very eye opening for the children and my husband. We are also trying the cloth grocery sacks and some other frugal/green stuff I am learninging about. I am open to learning more to do what I can..so thanks for sharing. It does take some extra work to be green but I think a lot of that is likely due to bad habits..I am hoping to teach my children the RIGHT way, and to be honest, it seems to be easier for them than for adults. ;)

All the best,
Jenni Shaver

All sewn up

Hi Renee,

Do you know a place that re-uses fabric from sewing projects?  Some may be several yards, usable for making an outfit, others are scraps from projects.  This would be most helpful for my closet cleaning!

Thanks.

Recycle this!

Dear Renee -

What is the best way to get involved and have an impact on what the city of Indianapolis decides regarding recycling?

I find it ironic to see all of the new billboards around town noting the problem when the solutions haven’t seemed to follow.

Thanks!

Have a seat

I have several expired car seats that can no longer be used. These things are huge and I feel bad dumping them in the garbage, but I can’t find any information about recycling them. Any ideas? Thanks!
