About Me:
Hi there Greener Indiana! We own a nature homestead on the southwest side of Fort Wayne, IN (our hometown), but are moving to the southwest for Steve's job with the National Park Service at Carlsbad Caverns in April. It's a two year term so we will see where we go after that. We will keep tabs from afar on this group for sure. Check out our blog for our thoughts on simple living, gardening, crafting, nature, etc.

Happy late birth-day greeting! It was a great week-end for wild walks for sure! It was also great temps to tap a sugar maple, I made sure I gave a blessing to the spirits first before Larry test tapped the Maples' annual gift. That chocolate peanut butter chip bundt cake looks rich and yummy! but i think I will stay away from PB unless you make your own. I'm located up a ways in Frances Slocum woodlands, lots of wildlife, our possum came out from beneath one of the sheds yesterday. She's a big 'un!

Oh yes! There are many things going on this 1/3 acre urban lot since I aquired it in '02. It has taken at least 6 years for all the ecosystems on this habitat to really fully develope, and continue to be self-sustaining with a little management. Now I want to propose to the city to overturn ordinances, to allow a goat, or sheep mower, and a few chickens. Do you have any suggestions? I am about ready to borrow a goat, and give him a try !

Hey there! Love the property and house out there in Aboite. If I didn't already have this property here in the N.E.of the Fort I would consider it. Is it near Fox Island, Eagle Marsh, and Arrowhead preserves? Sweet. You are doing some real cool crafty upcycling too I see. I have 3 of same barn doors just waiting for some legs! Lots of old windows too, my list is endless, but my storage space is not!! ;) I do need a drill press though. Happy move back to the S.W., lots warmer.
Warm Regards, Ellen Ley
