About Me:
I believe that in order to help solve the climate crisis we need to live our lives as sustainable as possible. We need to re think the way we live. We need to develop new ways through technology, science, design, and smart and healthy choices to re build a better world to live in. I believe we can change this by several categories. Through smarter ways of buying non toxic products, replacing old technology with more energy efficient products, make healthier decisions when it comes to what we eat and how we purchase foods, changing how we travel and get from place to place through efficient fuels and renewable energy, building more efficient homes through green building and developing ways to reduce waste in products and develop a zero waste economy. Through these several ways we can all help make a dent in our future. I believe we have the capacity for growth and the will to act on this movement. help us tackle Climate Change.

I design and host a eco friendly website to help others tackle the climate crisis. Living green not only helps us renew our planet but it renews us in a way that has a positive impact on our spirit, health, and our mind. If you need help tackling this huge feat visit www.ecogreenglobe.com to get started!

Tiny Houses & Simple Living

Hi, and Welcome to my blog about my tiny house adventure. I am posting this blog to share my tiny house experience with others that are interested in the process and to help others decide weather or not it is for them. I am also creating this blog because i would like to document my experience building it and living in it to show others how it is very possible to live simply and still live comfortably.

The reason i got hooked on building a tiny house is mainly my love for the… Continue

Energy

Energy is is all around us. It is in our bodies, in our food, in our homes, in nature, in animals and plants, in the sun, and in the wind. We don't tend to think of how much energy we actually have right in front of us. As Barrak Obama starts hi presidency i have high hopes for change in the energy crisis. Yet we as individuals can take steps to change our ways to more healthy and efficient ways of living. If each one of us took the initiative to harness our own individual energy we could… Continue

My Eco Goals

My eco friendly dream is to have an eco friendly home. A building that works with the environment instead of against it. I'm currently designing the features I want to include into it. Weather it be a home that I will renovate or build from scratch everything will be 100% eco. I definitely want a green house/ green room which will either be attached to the house or separate so I can grow my own food. Solar panels on the roof are a must. With skylights, letting natural light in to the home.… Continue

Global Warming & Change

When you look out your window or go for a walk outside in nature what do you see? You might see a blue sky with a glowing sun and a flock of birds soaring through the air like feathers, but when your eyes are really open and really focusing on the things that are happening in front of you, you might see something completely different. I am here to tell you that there is something deeper than our existence at work and it is happening right in front of us every second of the sunlit day, and every… Continue

Hi, Kris! Sorry I didn't respond - I didn't know I would get messages here!

We bought the wind turbine from a man in Wisconsin, and he had local help in installing it. It has become quite a sore subject, though. It hasn't been working since October, because we can't get him out here to fix it. Eric Cotton (bless his heart!) has taken on the job now, but it's been slow going this winter, with no breaks in the weather. We never really set out to be environmentally-minded folks, but we just have kind of worked our way into more and more areas - but there is always room to improve! Have a great day!

Wow -what a tricked out page! I have the story of stuff on my website too!
www.savemaumee.org! You have the world water monitoring story as your first...I LOVE THAT! I also am enjoying the ideasinfo for renewable energy, that is a very big problem that will eventually harm us all..one way or another, renewable and sustainable are going to be the only way to go, glad we are on the boat together! Let me know if you need anything, are you in Ft. Wayne?

The Apartment

When I owned my home I recycled everything. Now I live in an apartment which means the only drop off points are some distance away and I have no place to keep things long enough to make a trip worth while. Any suggestions?

Jim

Jim,

These days I’d be surprised [...]

April showers

I know several people who forgot to bring their rain barrels in for the winter and have subsequently ended up with cracked and useless rain barrels.  Where can they be recycled?

Thanks!

Claire

Claire,

You’d think when it comes to a resourceful alternative to plumbing, a little crack couldn’t hurt. [...]

Earth Hour Power!

Earth Hour is a global event that takes place annually from 8:30pm – 9:30pm on the last Sunday of March.  The event calls for non-essential lighting to be turned off for one hour to raise awareness regarding global energy consumption.  This year has even more significance than previous years because some of [...]
